The Municipality of Huron East hereby gives notice that a Special Meeting of Council will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. to consider planning applications.

Residents looking for relief from the current heat warning can access a number of cooling locations and amenities throughout Huron East. Please note that some facilities may operate on modified schedules or be closed on Canada Day. Residents are encouraged to confirm facility hours before visiting.

The Municipality of Huron East Council has provisionally adopted a new Vacant Building By-law. Final approval of the by-law will be considered at the August 11, 2026 Council meeting.

Work on Goderich St. W as part of Phase Two of the Highway 8 Connecting Link Reconstruction Project is set to begin the week of Monday, April 6, 2026, and is expected to continue until September 2026. During this phase of construction, Goderich St. W will be closed to through traffic between Sparling St. and Main St.

Municipality of Huron East Council has approved the 2026 Water and Wastewater Rate Study and formally adopted the Municipality’s Water and Wastewater Financial Plan, both prepared by Watson & Associates Economists Ltd.

The Municipality of Huron East advises that the Vanastra Recreation Centre pool (26 Toronto Blvd, Vanastra) has now reopened as of Thursday, February 19, following the completion of necessary mechanical repairs.

All programs will resume as the facility returns to regular operation.

The Municipality of Huron East has officially adopted its 2026 Municipal Budget following the end of Council’s 30-day amendment period on February 12, 2026.
