The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal Election has now closed. The Municipality of Huron East has certified the following candidates in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

The Municipality of Huron East is accepting applications for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator (Full Time, Permanent Position).

The Municipality of Huron East is pleased to announce that Phase Two of the Highway 8 Connecting Link Reconstruction Project is now complete, and Goderich St. W in Seaforth is officially open to traffic on Friday, August 21. Please be patient over the next few days while detour signage is disassembled.  

The Municipality of Huron East is advising residents that the Nomination Period for the 2026 Municipal Election is now closed. Nominations for the offices of Mayor and Councillor were accepted from Friday, May 1, 2026 until Friday, August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.

The Municipality of Huron East would like to advise residents that the community recycling dumpster bins currently located at several sites throughout Seaforth will be removed after September 15, 2026.

Please note that a section of Summerhill Rd. from Beechwood Ln. to Manley Ln. will be closed starting today (Thursday, August 6) for approximately three weeks due to a culvert replacement.
