Community donations support $2 admission and subsidized swimming lessons at Brussels Outdoor Pool

Residents and visitors can enjoy affordable summer recreation at the Brussels Outdoor Pool thanks to a generous donation from Nancy MacDonald Exel through ABCD for Hope and the Brussels Lions Club. Their donations keep admission at just $2 per swim for everyone throughout the summer season.

The donation also supports affordable swimming lessons. ABCD for Hope is providing a $20 subsidy per participant, matching the $20 contribution offered by the Brussels Lions Club. Together, the two organizations reduce swimming lesson fees by $40 per child, helping more families access aquatic programming that promotes water safety, confidence, and lifelong recreation skills.

“The Brussels Outdoor Pool is an important summer gathering place, and this donation helps more people enjoy it,” says Joaquin Barrientos, Aquatics Facilities Supervisor. “We look forward to welcoming residents and families for affordable fun, recreation, and connection.”

The support builds on the longstanding role of the Brussels Lions Club in supporting the pool and aquatic programming in the community.

ABCD for Hope stands for “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty,” reflecting Nancy MacDonald Exel’s commitment to investing in stronger communities and supporting the continued success of the Brussels Outdoor Pool.

As part of the summer promotion at the Brussels Outdoor Pool, visitors can also enjoy Treat Thursdays, with a free treat available with pool admission every Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., while supplies last.
