2026 Huron East Municipal Election: Candidate List Certified
The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal Election has now closed. The Municipality of Huron East has certified the following candidates in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996:
- Mayor: Alvin McLellan; Jonathan Hugill; Conlan Melady
- Councillor – Tuckersmith: Raymond Chartrand; Ryian McGregor; William (Bill) Tremeer; Bruce Williams
- Councillor – Seaforth: Robert Fisher (acclaimed); John Steffler (acclaimed)
- Councillor – McKillop: Randy McClure (acclaied); Heather Ashwin (acclaimed)
- Councillor – Brussels: Justin Morrison (acclaimed); Lisa Glanville (acclaimed)
- Councillor – Grey: Dianne Diehl (acclaimed); Hilary Machan (acclaimed)
- Trustee – Avon Maitland District School Board (English Public): Alysha Dowson; Deborah Logue
- Trustee – Huron Perth Catholic School Board (English Separate): Amy Cronin; Karen Doyle
Candidates for the French Public School Board and French Separate School Board are certified by the City of Sarnia and the City of London, respectively. Information about candidates for these positions will be available through the applicable municipal election authorities.

Voting information
The 2026 Municipal Election will use internet and telephone voting, providing eligible electors with a convenient and accessible way to cast their ballot from wherever they are during the voting period.
Voting will open on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and close on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.
Electors will be able to vote online or by telephone at any time during the voting period. Information about voter eligibility, how to confirm or update voter information, and other voting details is available at www.huroneast.com/elections.
Additional information about voting locations and assistance options for electors who do not have access to a telephone, computer, or tablet will be shared closer to the start of the voting period.
