The Municipality of Huron East proudly proclaims June as Pride Month, standing in solidarity with 2SLGBTQI+ individuals and celebrating their identities, contributions, and place in our community.
This annual recognition reflects Huron East's commitment to fostering acceptance, equality, and inclusion for all residents.
Pride Month is observed across Canada and around the world as a time to honour sexual and gender diversity, promote equal rights, and raise awareness of the challenges faced by 2SLGBTQI+ communities. The acronym includes Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and others who identify as part of sexual and gender-diverse communities.
As the Pride flag is raised, Huron East reaffirms its pledge to support diversity and create a safe, welcoming environment where everyone can thrive authentically.
