Back to SearchHuron East, ON — November 6, 2024 — The Brussels, Morris & Grey Community Centre is set to unveil its revitalized facilities with a full day of exciting activities on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Thanks to a combination of federal and provincial grants, as well as generous community donations, the Centre has undergone a major transformation, creating a modern, accessible space for local residents to come together and enjoy a wide range of recreational and social activities.
JOIN US FOR A FULL DAY OF SPECIAL EVENTS!
The Grand Opening celebration will kick off early and continue throughout the day with something for everyone, including sporting events, tournaments, and opportunities to explore the newly renovated spaces.
Event Highlights Include:
- 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM | U6-U15 Teams: Youth hockey teams will take to the rink for an exciting day of games and friendly competition. Come out to cheer on the players as they show their skills on the ice.
- 1:00 - 3:00 PM | Open House: Take a tour of the newly renovated Community Centre! Explore the modernized dressing rooms and upgraded washrooms while discovering our new lobby, fitness gym, and viewing area that will serve as the heart of recreation for our community.
- 4:30 PM | Sledge Hockey: A thrilling sledge hockey exhibition featuring guest teams from the Kitchener Rangers and London Blizzards. Come cheer on these talented athletes as they take to the ice.
- 7:00 PM | Wingham Ironmen vs. Fergus: The excitement continues with an evening hockey game featuring the Wingham Ironmen facing off against the Fergus Whalers. A perfect way to wrap up the day's festivities!

Come out and cheer on the players as they compete throughout the day in the Centre's newly renovated sports complex! - Intermediate Division: 9:00 AM
- Advanced Division: Afternoon
- 1:00 PM | Euchre Tournament:
Test your card-playing skills in the friendly Euchre tournament held upstairs. Contact brusselsagsociety@gmail.com to register! - Food Booth:
Keep your energy up with a variety of delicious food options, available throughout the day. The food booth will offer a selection of snacks, meals, and drinks to keep everyone fueled for the fun.
