2023 Fall Leaf Bag Collection Schedule

The Municipality of Huron East will be starting fall leaf bag collection for Brussels, Egmondville, Harpurhey, Seaforth and Vanastra on Monday’s beginning October 16^th, 2023 through November 13^th, 2023, weather permitting.  If Monday falls on a holiday bags will be picked up the next day.

Leaves must be in biodegradable paper bags.  Please ensure the bags weigh no more than 23kg/50lbs.  Please note that staff will not pick up overweight bags, bags that are not biodegradable paper bags or bags that contain other waste, such as garbage or animal feces.

Staff will pick up weekly as weather permits.  Once the collection period has ended, staff will no longer collect any bags that are set curbside.  You must dispose of these bags at your local compost site.

For those who wish to dispose of their own leaves, please take them to the municipal compost site located at 79522 Hannah Line, Harpurhey or 108 Turnberry Street, Brussels.  Drop leaves in the area marked “COMPOST”.

There will be a single brush pick up day for the above noted areas on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.  Brush must be bundled and tied in four foot (4’) lengths or less for pick up on this date or taken to the compost site.
