October 7, 2024 — The Huron East Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®)—the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week^TM (FPW^TM) for more than 100 years—to promote this year's FPW campaign, "Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!^TM" The campaign works to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.

🍂 Fall leaf collection in Brussels, Egmondville, Harpurhey, Seaforth & Vanastra starts on October 15th!

Collection begins on Tuesday, October 15th and will take place every Monday after that until November 18th, 2024, weather permitting. If Monday falls on a holiday, bags will be picked up the next day!

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, a manure spill was reported on Hullett McKillop Road.

The Ministry of the Environment (MOE) Spill's Action Centre (SAC) has been notified and the Drainage Superintendent is working with the MOE and is monitoring site remediation.
