The Municipality of Huron East will commemorate National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Tuesday, September 30, with remembrance and reflection.
The flag at Town Hall will be lowered in recognition of the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. All residents, staff, and community members are encouraged to wear orange shirts as a visible sign of support and commitment to reconciliation.

Please note that a section of Main St. S in Seaforth will be closed from Brantford St. to Duke St. on Saturday, September 13 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. for the Seaforth Fall Fair parade.
The parade will be departing from the Optimist Park at 10:30 a.m.

The Municipality of Huron East is planning to reconstruct Goderich Street West (Hwy 8) from Harpurhey Road to Main Street (County Rd 12). The project will completed in three phases. Phase 1 to be completed in 2025 with the limits being from Harpurhey Road to Sparling Street. Phase 2 to be competed in 2026 with the limits being from Sparling Street to Main Street. Public Bulk Recycling Bin Service Discontinued at Key Brussels Locations
The Municipality of Huron East has discontinued the public bulk recycling bin service at several locations in Brussels due to ongoing misuse. The affected bin locations include:
One bin at the Municipal Parking Lot on Elizabeth Street (behind the car wash)
One bin beside JR's Restaurant, 390 Turnberry Street
Five bins at the Public Works Yard, 240 Turnberry Street
