October 7, 2024 — The Huron East Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®)—the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week^TM (FPW^TM) for more than 100 years—to promote this year's FPW campaign, "Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!^TM" The campaign works to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.

🍂 Fall leaf collection in Brussels, Egmondville, Harpurhey, Seaforth & Vanastra starts on October 15th!

Collection begins on Tuesday, October 15th and will take place every Monday after that until November 18th, 2024, weather permitting. If Monday falls on a holiday, bags will be picked up the next day!

📢Leaves must be in biodegradable paper bags!

Please ensure the bags weigh no more than 23kg/50lbs. Please note that staff will not pick up overweight bags, bags that are not biodegradable paper...
