Temporary closure of the Vanastra Recreation Centre Pool
Closure expected to last until mid to late September 2026
The Municipality of Huron East advises residents that the pool at the Vanastra Recreation Centre (VRC) is temporarily closed to allow for maintenance and upgrades to the facility's mechanical systems.
The project will improve pool filtration, increase water turnover rates, and support a better overall experience for all users.
The closure is expected to continue through mid to late September 2026. A confirmed reopening date will be shared publicly as soon as it becomes available.
During the closure:
- All pool programs, lessons, and aquatic activities are suspended.
- Registered participants will be notified directly by email or phone if the reopening date impacts scheduled September programming.
- All three-month and annual memberships will be extended for the full duration of the closure. Membership extensions will be applied once the project is complete.
For questions regarding the pool closure, reopening plans, or September programming, please contact the Aquatics Facilities Supervisor at 519-482-3544 or vrc@huroneast.com.
Updates will be provided through the municipal website (www.huroneast.com), Facebook (www.facebook.com/HuronEast), and Instagram (www.instagram.com/huron_east/).
