Public Works Operator
Full Time, Summer Student Position
The Municipality of Huron East, a dynamic and dedicated community of approximately 10,000 residents, is seeking applications for a key role within our team. Situated in the picturesque Huron County, our community showcases a delicate blend of lively urban areas, rural heartlands, and flourishing farmlands. Perfectly positioned 30 minutes west of Stratford and an hour north of London, Huron East prides itself on offering the exceptional level of services and opportunities our residents thrive on.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Operations Manager to assist employees on general construction and maintenance activities, and GPS work. The Public Works Operator will assist with a variety of construction, maintenance and repair services to roads and public works operations. This includes inspecting sidewalks, assessing road signs, marking underground utilities, performing site maintenance. Work will primarily be outdoors, in various weather conditions.
This is a full time position, with training tentatively scheduled on May 9, 2026. Contract will run until August 31, 2026.
What We’re Looking for:
- Must hold a Valid “G” License with a clean driving abstract
- Must provide and maintain a clear Criminal Reference Check
- Currently enrolled in high school, college, or university, and be returning in the fall
