PUBLIC NOTICE OF PESTICIDE USE

The Municipality of Huron East intends to control noxious weeds along the following roadsides through spot spraying where noxious weeds have been identified.

Municipality of Huron East Road Sides including:

• Roxboro Line from Blyth Road to Highway 8
• Hensall Road from Blyth Road to Highway 8
• Maple Line from Blyth Road to Highway 8
• Beechwood Line from Blyth Road to Highway 8
• Manley Line from Blyth Road to Highway 8
• Canada Company Road from Division Line to Perth Road 180
• Hullett-McKillop Road from Division Line to Perth Road 180
• Sawmill Road from Division Line to Perth Road 180
• Summerhill Road from Division Line to Perth Road 180
• Bridge Road from Division Line to Perth Road 180
• Hydro Line Road from Division Line to Perth Road 180

• Browntown Road from McDonald Line to Johnston Line
• McDonald Line from Browntown Road to Cranbrook Road
• McDonald Line from St Michaels Road to Walton Road
• Jonston Line from Browntown Road to Brandon Road
• Cardiff Road from McDonald Line to McNabb Line
• McNabb Line from Brandon Road to Newry Road
• Brandon Road from Brussels Line to Ethel Line
• Rowland Road from Molesworth Line to Road 172
• Cranbrook Road from Brussels Line to McDonald Line
• Maple Keys Line from Browntown Road to Rowland Road
• Krauter Line from Molesworth Line to Newry Road

All locations where herbicides will be applied are in rural areas along a highway in which the public has general right of access but the application does not include any area intended for pedestrian access nor areas where the public is invited to stop such as rest areas or picnic areas.

Noxious weeds identified along the right-of-way locations noted above will be spot sprayed using the following pesticides registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada):

• ClearView Herbicide containing the active ingredients: Aminopyralid, present as potassium salt and Metsulfuron - methyl (Registration No. 29752)
• Hasten NT Ultra Spray Adjuvant containing Methyl and ethyl oleate (esterified vegetable oil) (Registration No. 31760)
• Navius Flex Herbicide, containing Metsulfuron – methyl and Aminocyclopyrachlor (Registration No: 30922)
• Method 240SL Herbicide (Registration No. 32957) Which contains the active ingredients Aminocyclopyrachlor, (present as potassium salt)

Anyone not wishing to have the roadside adjacent to their property treated for noxious weeds should contact Shawn Bromley at the Municipality of Huron East 519-527-0160.

Note: It is the responsibility of the property owner requesting no spray to contact the above each calendar year prior to the application of weed spray. Property owners requesting no spray will be responsible for all noxious weeds on the road allowance adjacent to their property.

We are controlling Noxious Weeds under Public Works in accordance with the exception to the cosmetic pesticide ban in subsection 7.1 (2) of the Pesticides Act for the promotion of public health or safety.
