Day Camp Leader
Full Time, Summer Student Position
The Municipality of Huron East, a dynamic and dedicated community of approximately 10,000 residents, is seeking applications for a key role within our team. Situated in the picturesque Huron County, our community showcases a delicate blend of lively urban areas, rural heartlands, and flourishing farmlands. Perfectly positioned 30 minutes west of Stratford and an hour north of London, Huron East prides itself on offering the exceptional level of services and opportunities our residents thrive on.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Aquatic Facility Supervisor to provide activities and supervision to children registered in the Municipality’s Summer Day Camp Program. The Summer Day Camp Leader is responsible for the safety and supervision of all day camp staff and program participants. Key responsibilities include planning, organizing, and implementing activities including games, crafts, swimming, and local outings; engaging in all activities with participants throughout the day; assisting with maintaining accurate program records including attendance, incidents, etc.; and responding to parent/guardian questions and concerns to ensure customer satisfaction.
This is a full time position, with training tentatively scheduled on May 9, 2026. Summer camp program runs from July 6 to August 28. Applicants must be able to commit to two mandatory camp closure days.
What We’re Looking for:
- Currently enrolled in high school, college, or university, and be returning in the fall
- Must provide and maintain a clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Standard First Aid and CPR
