Municipality of Huron East launching 10-year Community Services Master Plan
The Municipality of Huron East is pleased to announce the development of a new Community Services Master Plan to help guide the future of parks, recreation facilities, programs, and community services across the municipality.
The Master Plan will serve as a long-term planning tool to support informed decision-making and help ensure municipal services continue to meet the changing needs of residents, community groups, and visitors. It will set priorities and outline practical actions to strengthen and enhance community services throughout Huron East.
The Municipality has hired McQueen Galloway Associates (MGA) to complete all phases of the project. MGA has experience working with rural and growing communities and will work closely with Municipal staff, Council, and the community throughout the planning process.
Public engagement for the Community Services Master Plan will begin in the coming weeks. Upcoming community input opportunities will help confirm local priorities, assess current and future needs, and shape recommendations.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the upcoming engagement opportunities below and watch for the public survey link to be shared online. Outreach will also include schools and youth.
- Thursday, June 4, 2026 – Community group, committee, board, and staff sessions in Brussels and Seaforth
- Thursday, June 11 to Thursday, June 25, 2026 – Community-wide public survey

“As we plan for the future of community services in Huron East, it’s important that we hear directly from residents,” says Lissa Berard, Director of Community Services. “Community feedback will help us better understand needs, identify priorities, and ensure the Master Plan reflects what matters most to our community.”
The Community Services Master Plan will include a review of existing programs, facilities, parks, cemeteries, service levels, budgets, partnerships, and staff capacity. Recommendations will be short‑, medium‑, and long‑term, with a focus on practicality, flexibility, and sustainability.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed and participate throughout the process. Project updates, engagement opportunities, and background information will be shared on the Municipality of Huron East website (www.huroneast.com) and on social media: Facebook (facebook.com/HuronEast) and Instagram (instagram.com/huron_east).
