Lifeguard/Instructor
Full Time, Summer Student Position
The Municipality of Huron East, a dynamic and dedicated community of approximately 10,000 residents, is seeking applications for a key role within our team. Situated in the picturesque Huron County, our community showcase a delicate blend of lively urban areas, rural heartlands, and flourishing farmlands. Perfectly positioned 30 minutes west of Stratford and an hour north of London, Huron East prides itself on offering the exceptional level of services and opportunities our residents thrive on.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Aquatic Facility Supervisor and is responsible for the general supervision and safety of patrons of the aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. The Lifeguard also participates in the development and execution of aquatic fitness programs, lesson plans for swimming instruction for patrons of all abilities, and takes part in pool and facility maintenance (includes water sampling and minor chemistry balance).
This is a full time position, with training tentatively scheduled on May 9, 2026. This position runs from June 2 to August 30, 2026.
What We’re Looking for:
- Currently enrolled in high school, college, or university, and be returning in the fall
- Applicants must be 16 years of age or older and be able to provide and maintain a clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Applicant must hold a current Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard Certification, current Standard First Aid with CPR, and the Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Course
