Huron East seeking feedback on potential multi-sport court in Seaforth
The Municipality of Huron East is initiating early‑stage exploration into the potential development of a Multi‑Sport Court in Seaforth, aimed at expanding local recreational opportunities and supporting active living for residents of all ages.
To ensure any future project aligns with community needs, the Municipality is seeking input from residents. Feedback gathered at this stage will help identify priorities, assess demand, and shape the direction of planning efforts.
Residents can provide feedback through the online survey at www.huroneast.com/sportscourt, open until Monday, February 16 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Paper copies of the survey will also be available for pick-up at Town Hall (72 Main St. S, Seaforth, ON).
As part of this process, the Municipality is seeking feedback on which activities residents would like to see included should the project move forward, such as pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard and basketball.
“As we explore funding opportunities, it’s important that we also hear from residents,” says Lissa Berard, Director of Community Services. “Their input will help us understand the level of interest and ensure that any potential project reflects what the community truly wants and needs.”
This initiative is currently dependent on securing external grant funding. As staff assess project feasibility and explore available funding programs, community perspectives will play a key role in guiding next steps. While no final decisions have been made, community feedback will help determine whether the project moves forward and future planning efforts.
