Huron East Community Services Master Plan engagement continues with upcoming public input opportunities

The Municipality of Huron East is thanking residents, community groups, committees, boards, staff, Council, and local partners for contributing their feedback to the development of the 10-year Community Services Master Plan, and is encouraging continued participation as the project moves into its next stage of engagement.

The Community Services Master Plan will guide the future of parks, recreation facilities, programs, cemeteries, service levels, budgets, partnerships, staffing capacity, and community services across Huron East. The plan is being developed with support from McQueen Galloway Associates and will include short-, medium-, and long-term recommendations focused on practicality, flexibility, and sustainability.

Engagement completed to date

Since engagement began in June, the Municipality and project team have gathered input through community group sessions, committee and board discussions, staff engagement, a Council workshop, and a community-wide public survey. Participants were invited to share their experiences with existing services, identify what is working well, and highlight opportunities for improvement.

The first public survey is now closed, and feedback received through early engagement will help confirm local priorities, assess current and future needs, and shape the draft recommendations that will be shared for further community review.

Upcoming engagement opportunities

Residents will have additional opportunities to learn more about the project and provide feedback in the coming weeks. McQueen Galloway Associates will have a table at the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority 75th Anniversary Celebration River Festival event on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 4:00 p.m. at the Brussels Conservation Area (80 Alfred St., Brussels).

The project team will also be at the Seaforth Fall Fair from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Seaforth Agriplex, 140 Duke Street, Seaforth, where residents can learn more about the Community Services Master Plan and share feedback in person.

A second community-wide public survey will be available online from September 18 to 30, 2026. This survey will invite residents to review and provide feedback on the draft Community Services Master Plan before recommendations are finalized.
