Huron East advancing accessibility improvements at Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club

Project is funded by the Province of Ontario through the Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone (EASE) Grant

The Municipality of Huron East is pleased to share that accessibility improvements are underway at the Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club (127 Main St. S), supported by $57,935 in funding from the Province of Ontario through the Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone (EASE) Grant.

The project will improve access to the facility for older adults and people with disabilities. Planned upgrades include a new accessible washroom, a ramp connecting the parking lot to the greens, and improved barrier‑free access into the clubhouse.

“These improvements will help create a more inclusive and welcoming space for residents and visitors,” said Lissa Berard, Director of Community Services for the Municipality of Huron East. “The club is a popular gathering place for local leagues and community events. With the Province of Ontario’s support through the EASE Grant, we are reducing barriers and improving access to this important community facility.”

Work on the Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club is expected to be completed in June 2026. A recognition event will be held once the improvements are complete, with details to be announced closer to project completion.

"Our government is proud to support improvements that will help make this valued community hub more accessible and enjoyable for everyone," said Lisa Thompson, MPP for Huron-Bruce. "Congratulations to the Seaforth Lawn Bowling club and its volunteers for their continued commitment to building a stronger, more connected community in Seaforth and Huron East."

“Our government is committed to building inclusive communities where older adults and people with disabilities can participate fully and safely,” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “Through the EASE Grant, we are proud to support accessibility improvements at the Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club that will help remove barriers, increase independence, and ensure this community space can be enjoyed by everyone.”

The EASE Grant (Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone) is a provincial program that supports small capital projects that improve accessibility in communities across Ontario and enhance quality of life for people with disabilities and older adults.
