The Municipality of Huron East is a progressive and growing municipality of approximately 10,000 residents. Located in beautiful Huron County, Huron East is a blend of vibrant urban areas, rural communities, and productive farmland. Located 30 minutes west of Stratford and one hour north of London, Huron East provides an impressive level of services and opportunities for our residents.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Grey Township Shed under the supervision of the Public Works Lead Hand, and will provide a variety of construction, maintenance and repair services relating to roads, sidewalks, signs, trees, municipal drains and other public works operations.

What We’re Looking for:

  • Secondary School diploma or equivalent;
  • Valid Ontario DZ Driver’s License with a current and acceptable Driver’s abstract;
  • Physical ability to perform labour on a construction site;
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction and operation of heavy equipment is preferred;
  • Sound judgment and excellent analytical decision making skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize work load and perform tasks without direct supervision; and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
