2026 spring hydrant flushing to begin April 7

The Municipality of Huron East will be conducting its annual spring hydrant flushing program from April 7 to May 15, 2026. This routine maintenance helps maintain water quality and ensures hydrants are functioning properly for fire protection.

Dates & locations

• Seaforth & Egmondville: April 7 – 24, 2026
• Brussels & Brucefield: April 27 – May 8, 2026
• Vanastra: May 11 – 15, 2026

What to expect

During hydrant flushing, residents in the immediate area may experience:

• Temporary water discolouration may occur
• Reduced water pressure while work is taking place
• Run cold water until it clears
• Avoid doing laundry during periods of discolouration

These effects are temporary and will resolve once flushing in the area is complete.
