Doors Open Haunted Huron
The Municipality of Huron East will again be participating in the Doors Open event in 2008, our fourth year in this program. Huron East has partnered with the County of Huron and several communities within the County have joined as well.
Doors Open Haunted Huron will occur throughout the County of Huron on Saturday, October 18, 2008 and Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.
Please visit the provincial Doors Open Ontario website www.doorsopenontario.on.ca, scroll down below to see a list of the other locations and sites that have participated in the past Doors Open events in Seaforth and Brussels.
Every year, Doors Open Ontario attracts large crowds across Ontario. From April to October, residents and visitors are invited to discover first-hand Ontario’s hidden heritage treasures, some of which have never been open to the public.
Over 1.1 million visits have been made to the multitude of heritage sites opened as part of the program during the past four years. The program, now considered a cultural phenomenon, will be even larger in 2008 with hundreds of communities participating in 40 events across the province.
Festivals and Events Ontario recognizes Doors Open Ontario as one of the province's "Top 50 Ontario Festivals."
Doors Open events are usually planned around local festivals and events in the area. The Seaforth event is being planned around Civic Day in Seaforth. The Brussels event will coincide with the Walton MotoCross Championships being held that week. The Walton event attracts over 20,000 moto-cross enthusiasts from across North America every year. Come and experience our hospitality at its rural finest.
